When sun and clouds chase each other, thunder and lighning roll… The best stories are told up on the rooftop. With legs dangeling with the beat of the music it’s easy to forget about time and space. The bustle on the street looks so different from up here. Venturously one finds his place to observe the scene, to enjoy and share this light-hearted feeling with other rooftop-creatures.
Our story began in 2008 with a guitar and two minds that had a lot to talk about. „You make music? Ah! Me too. Get up here!“ Mr. Kalimper and Mrs. Krakel. Strange. A visit to Hamburg brought a fresh breeze and the first song: „Blew Me Off“. Slowly but surely the drawer got filled with songs. By now 11 songs have been written, four of them have been recorded and put on the Demo CD „Feels Like Spring“ – a musical walk in the sun that will leave your nose ticklish.
On stage we can be loud, gentle, romatic or cheeky. We already presented our pogramme with the Australian Singer/Songwriter „Renny Field“ and the british Band „The Sons“. In 2009 more gigs are planned (eg. Berlin and Kiel) as well as a first time studio recording in fall.
Once Upon A Rooftop – Karolin Plath (lead vocals, acoustic guitar) and Steffen Wilhelmi (acoustic guitar, background) – a little bit of rooftop-feeling all the way from Stadtfeld, Magdeburg (Germany).
