Based in Berlin, the epicentre of the European music market, our aim is to provide a platform that connects Australian artists directly with the European audience, supporting and advancing their careers.

The Vondo Machine is proud to present Australian songwriter Brett Winterford, touring Europe and the US in 2012 in support of his first solo work, The Greenthumb EP.
After 12 years fronting Sydney-based rock/pop outfit peregrine, Winterford’s brave new work showcases his “narrative wit and poetic soul-searching” [The Australian] and his “wistfulness” [The Sydney Morning Herald] in equal measure.
The six-track recording deals with reclaiming the imagination and human spirit in the absence of religion and institution. It is a wide-eyed expression of wonderment for the natural world and those that choose to live peacefully in it.

Mijo Biscan ist der Gründer und Bandleader der Melbourner Band Lamplight. Der Erfolg in ihrem Heimatland Australien veranlasste Mijo nach Europa zu gehen, um seine Musik auf der Nordhalbkugel zu verbreiten.
Obwohl man ihn vergleichen kann mit Jeff Buckley, Rufas Wainwright, Fleet Foxes and Leonard Cohen, entzieht er sich dem Schubladendenken der Kritiker durch seine in der Welt der Songschreiber einzigartige Stimme, seine Ausstrahlung und seinen musikalischen Einfallsreichtum. Nachdem er eine Band von bis zu 18 Musikern inklusive Bläsern, Streichern und Sängern leitete, ist Mijo nun zu seinen Wurzeln als Performer einfacher Lieder und einfacher Wahrheiten mit seiner unverwechselbaren Art und Stimme zurückgekehrt.

Since 2008, peregrine frontman Brett Winterford has travelled to Europe every year to play “Sydney meets…” concerts together with German musicians. He has played on top of double-decker buses, inside the walls of ancient forts, on barges on the Elbe river, on balconies over-hanging the reeperbahn, and all along the way has inspired with his unique songs that touch the heart.
In 2011 he returns for more – with nothing but the essentials – his acoustic guitar and voice.
